Chashma, Kallar Kahar, Punjab, Pakistan
Chashma, Kallar Kahar, Punjab, Pakistan
Chashma is a natural water spring making 4 water pounds like the natural swimming pools step by step. It is around 15 Km away from Kallar Kahar Lake at Khushab Road. There is around 1 to 2 Km off road track towards the pounds. The track is full of adventure with ups, downs and full of greenery.
At very first we reached to the first pool, the scene of a great wall of mountain behind the pool makes its view more attractive. The water spring is coming out from the mountain wall. The radius of the pool this pool is not so big but around 5 meters. The amazing factor of the first pool is the tinny fishes and crabs in it. Of course man is the biggest animal of the world so unlike the others the crab is also frightened from the man. Sometimes, they come out for sunshine, as the water is cold, but we can see them clearly in the water surface.
Water surface of the pool is much zigzagged but could easily walk able, you can have a good bath in it but it’s better that if you know swimming. Lol (;
Second and third pools are not more than 30 meters away from the first pool, so it’s good that if you have a guide over there and if not then mountaineers can easily find the track and others as well. Second and third pools are in 2 steps. One is on top and the second is at bottom. These pools are bigger in size, the radius of is around 20 to 40 meters.
The fourth pool I think more than 2 or 3 yards away. As we were new to this place and didn’t have any guide so we could not reached to that pool, but we had enjoyed a lot swimming in the second and third pool.
Above all, the Chashma is a place worth tracking, swimming and for picnic. You can carry the food stuff and can have Bar-B-Q there. Even you can have camping there and can spend a night as well. The last interesting fact is about the natural spring water. Now a days the summer is going to end in Pakistan but still there is much humidity and hot in weather. So we have planned to enjoy a picnic over there with Bar-B-Q stuff in winter, the water would be hot, as it’s a natural spring. Yahoo, yahoo (:

Wow….gr8, thanks a lot for sharing the place info, just seen this on g.earth it seems to be a very good place, let me know when you are having trip there and if already gone there then please share the images and let me know its before the kallar kahar mountains?
Dude ..Where is it ?
Yeah i know about sawaik lake. people of village call it nuromi Lake. its better than neela wahn. to reach that place you have to:
1. leave motorway from kalar kahar exit
2. follow cho saidan road
3. take right from Attock petroleum pump
4. there will be a small link road on right side (a small buss stop is land mark of that link road). Take right from there and follow link road.
5. you’ll enter a village after crossing a small tunnel (motorway underpass)
6. from there u can ask any villager about nuromi lake. Villagers are very helpful people.

Neela Wahan
32.662155, 72.603508
thanks man. This place is called “Neel Wahan Ponds”, it is already on my to go list. As thanks have these, 32°44’9.52″N, 72°43’20.07″E, It’s called Swaik Lake(Nurroomi Jheel), here’s how to find it http://www.pakwheels.com/forums/ask-travel-gurus/213659-need-guidance-visit-swaik-lake-katas-temples-began-wali-ruins-kanhati-water-fal
thanks again
Hi, all those people looking for Narumi Lake (aka Swaik Lake), you need these two things.
1. http://www.moon.pk/swaiklake.kml, just install google earth and open this file, it will show you path from my house(in Rawalpindi) to the Lake.
2. The above path is not completely till lake, so use this (http://www.pakwheels.com/forums/ask-travel-gurus/213659-need-guidance-visit-swaik-lake-katas-temples-began-wali-ruins-kanhati-water-fal) blog to find the track, its not a hard find.
I am about to tell you how to get to the Lake. BUT REMEMBER LEARN AND MEMORIZE THE TRACK BEFORE YOU GO AND TAKE THE PRINT OUTS OF THE TRACK AND HAVE A GOOD AMOUNT OF MOBILE PHONE BATTERY JUST IN CASE IF YOU GET LOST SO THAT YOUR MOBILES COULD BE TRACKED. For those people unfamiliar with mountain areas, its freaking easy to get lost, mountains have forests on them and there are always tracks even if humans don’t use them and forests are a whole different ball game in the night.
Remember to follow the following steps.
1. Get on Motorway from Pindi & exit on Kalar Kahar Interchange.
2. When you exit Motorway from KK interchange, Immediately there are two V-Intersections, one crosses over motorway and the other takes you back to motorway, to avoid both take the left side of the V-Intersection, you will better understand it on Google Earth
3. The road you are on goes to Choa Syedan Shah, keep on this road until Attock Petrol Pump, when you reach there take right, then after a while there will be another Petrol pump, take right from there as well. Now the road you are on is called Cement Factory Road (aka Choi Mallot road). This road is easy to recognize as it has paved slopes on both sides.
4. On cement factory road from the first intersection, you take another right, this right will take you across motorway from a tunnel underneath the motorway. Remember this tunnel is hardly 3 to 4 minutes from intersection.
5. Now you are on the other side of the motorway. Follow this road and you will reach a village in a few minutes. This village is named Khandoa and it is the last human settlement on your way to the Lake.
6. As you reach the village the first thing upfront is boundary of a school, from there do not enter the village, take a left from the corner of the school, you will be driving along side its wall, take another left from the other end of the wall.
7. This road will proceed and turn itself on the right, you cant miss it, there will be two small mountains and you will notice the road going towards the middle of these two mountains, proceed in that direction, remember there is no chance of missing it.
8. As soon as you enter the middle of the mountains the roads splits, stay on the right side, on the main and bigger road. This road will twist and turn and take you to another intersection where the road splits. This is your last stop. This is the farthest for Cars. You may takes the bike as farther as they go.
9. From this split you will take the left side road and start walking and you will reach the edge of mountain. You will notice that you are already on top of a mountain and you have reached the edge. From that point the lake is on right side. But you will take the track towards left.
10. For try i really really suggest the link i posted earlier (http://www.pakwheels.com/forums/ask-travel-gurus/213659-need-guidance-visit-swaik-lake-katas-temples-began-wali-ruins-kanhati-water-fal)
11. Let me summarize whats on this link, follow the left side track till you reach Two Pillars, you will know them when you see them, from these two pillars now take right and you will reach a small wall, its called Toe Well. From this Toe Well just follow the track or the water up to the Lake.
12. Remember if you get Lost just start going down the mountain until eventually you reach a stream of water, this water is coming from the Lake and following between the intersection of mountains, just follow this water backwards all the way up to the Lake. Trust me it will not be easy following the water up.
13. Keep a COMPASS in your mobile. If you get lost your best chance is uphill in NORTH DIRECTION.
Thanks for all the information
